David Hosking - HEAD OF PLAYER MANAGEMENT
David Hosking is a seasoned sports professional whose career has spanned both elite athletic performance and strategic sports management. A former National Rugby League (NRL) player in the 1990s, David played with distinction for two of the league’s most respected clubs—the Manly Sea Eagles and South Sydney Rabbitohs. His experience at the top level of Australian rugby league has given him a deep understanding of the physical, mental, and professional demands faced by athletes in high-performance environments.
Following his playing career, David transitioned into sports management, earning an Advanced Diploma in Sports Management from the International Career Institute (ICI). This academic achievement, combined with his lived experience as a professional athlete, has positioned him as a trusted advisor and manager to today’s sporting talent.
As the father of current Canberra Raiders player Zac Hosking, David brings a personal and professional perspective to athlete development—understanding firsthand the journey, pressures, and opportunities facing modern athletes. His commitment to nurturing talent extends beyond contracts and sponsorships; he is passionate about helping players build sustainable careers both on and off the field.
David believes that success in sport is about more than performance—it’s about balance, planning, and resilience. He champions the importance of work-life balance and actively supports his clients in planning for life after sport, recognising that longevity in the industry requires both athletic excellence and personal growth.
The role of a great sports manager is to act as a strategist, mentor, and advocate. With his strong communication skills, integrity, and deep knowledge of the sporting landscape, David brings these qualities to every client relationship. His ability to build trust, negotiate effectively, and provide tailored support makes him a powerful asset to any athlete looking to maximise their potential.
With David Hosking as their guide, athletes gain not only a manager—but a mentor who truly understands the game from every angle.
